Welkome to the All Purpose ~KombatZone O.C. Fight Klub FAQ!

* What is the KombatZone?
The KZ is the original O.C. fighters club on dA. It was started way back in 2005, and the purpose? A good old fashioned brawl! There are no auditions, no wait times, no long drawn out wannabe RP storylines, just pure, simple, ass kicking.

*How does it work?
KZ is very, very simple. Members submit artwork and a set of stats. Their creations are entered into a random battle, which is posted as a deviation. Anyone and everyone is allowed to then view the dev, and vote in the comments for their favorite, based on the stats and picture. The comments can get pretty crazy, with various versions of the battle. One thing is always certain: we have FUN!
As each character fights, some will win, and others will of course lose. Losers may be out of the running for the current prize, but they are always welcome to compete again in later matches, and often we have qualifying rounds that bring back previously defeated characters for a second try.
Once a character has beaten their last opponent, they will earn the Krown from that phase, a high honor, complete with prizes for their creator!

*What are these "stats" you speak of?
All characters are required to have a set of statistics posted with their picture. These stats cover their basic attributes, powers, weapons, background, and skills. There are three parts to the stats, the Bio stats, Number Stats, and Other Stats.
The Number Stats System is simple and easy to understand and complete. We have five stat slots: strength, speed, stamina, agility, and intelligence. Each character is given 100 points to fill the five slots. Collectively, the slots cannot add up to any more than 100. We’ve imposed a ceiling of 30 points maximum per slot. A well rounded character would have 20 points in each slot.
The Other stats cover various other aspects of the character, such as their weaknesses, and weapons. Every char MUST have some sort of weakness. Weakness can be completely normal or totally random, it’s up to you!

Name: Character’s name, first, last, alias, whatever
Species: Human, part human, alien, etc
Age: Can be just about any number
Height: Let’s keep it under 50 foot
Weight: Under 50 tons

(Number Stats)
Strength: 1-30
Stamina: 1-30
Speed: 1-30
Agility: 1-30
Intelligence: 1-30

(Other Stats)
Weapon: 1-30
Weakness: 1-30

*What kind of limits are there for characters?
We strive to make the Klub as fair as possible, so we do have a few limitations. We cannot accept any characters blessed/cursed with immortality of any kind. No gods, demons, angels, etc. Only characters that can be overcome will be allowed to compete. We have also imposed the restriction of any character possessing ESP, precognition, or any “seeing the future” powers of any kind.
We do however, often hold “Exhibition” Matches for our immortal patrons.
We also need to limit the weaponry of entrants to no death machines. No weapon that can perform an instant kill is allowed. Also, we can’t allow minions, since it’s an unfair advantage.

*What about the artwork?
It’s very simple to submit artwork to the KZ. You can draw the character yourself, or have another draw it for you, with permission.
All we ask is that the piece show as much of the character as possible, be in COLOR (sorry, no pencils, ink, or gray scale), and include any main weapons that character will be using. A background is not necessary, however you may include it if you wish.
We must say no to certain things, since despite a battle club, it is an all ages affair. We cannot accept any form of nudity or extreme vulgarity in any piece. Certain amounts of blood and visceral bits are fine. There should be no slander/libel, racism, sexual slurs, or ethically offensive content.
Pieces need to be posted to dA, whether you or someone else draw it, and needs to have the Full Stats somewhere in the deviation. We will be linking back to the image in every battle that character competes in.

*What kind of Prizes are we talking here?
Ah, the most important point! KZ is a lot of fun, and seeing your character win it all is a great feeling! But, that doesn’t mean you’ll go of empty handed! Prizes for each Phase are varied, but often include giftart from other members of the Klub, stamps, icons, and other dA related goodies for you to use and show off. The Krown winner will also have a spot on the KZ homepage as our I.D..

*What if I don’t feel comfy having my character reposted?
Your character will have as much respect and protection as we can possible give it. They will not be reposted, but in a new deviation along with the character they are battling. All images will not be altered, and any watermarks will be left completely in tact.
Every battle will contain proper copyrights, links, and icons to ensure your character belongs to you!
We will also be using a save file format to discourage the image being stolen by saving from our deviations.

*How can I get involved?
Joining and participating in the KZ again, is very easy! Run over to the KZ homepage to view the current activities, vote in battles, and help decide the winners! Drop the Klub a note if you wish to join, and you can create a character for battle at any point in time. Just send the link to the Klub.
